1. Cave Hira, also has another name known as Jabal e-Noor.
Cave Hira is away from Meccah a holy place with estimated distance as 2 miles.Jabal e-noor is interpreted in Arabic language as ” the mountains of lights”
2.Cave Hira area (SPACE )
The Hira Cave is a small cave determined with the dimensions of 4 meters in length and 1.5 meters in width. The mountain itself has a curvature of 380 meters forming the height of 500 meters. It has a shape that resembles a camel’s hump. The mountain is covering that area by about 5.2 square meters.
3. The First Revelation revealed to the prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
A first revelations of the Holy Quran which sent to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were sent once the prophet Muhammad was at the Hira Cave in Ramadan (610 CE). The Quran declares that night as “the Night of Power” (Laylat al-Qadr).
Before the revelations appeared or happened, the Prophet (PBUH) used to have good dreams which were similar to the happening of revelations. Such dreams turned to be true by an angel.
4.the angel Jibrael (AS) revealed to this cave
That night, the angel appeared looking like a man at the time of Tahajjud and said to the Prophet (PBUH), “Read”. Once the prophet (PBUH) stated that He can’t read. Further, the angel requested Him to read, two more times, and all of the times again, He shared that He is unable to read. Lastly, the angel stated that;
“Recite in the name of your Lord who created. Created man from a clinging substance. Recite, and your Lord is the most generous. Who taught the man that which he knew not.”
(Quran 96:1-5)
5. The Start of Prophethood
On that revelation, the Prophethood of Muhammad (PBUH) was started till he died. When He (PBUH) moved out from the Hira Cave returning back to his house, halfway down from the mountain a voice entered His ears, that sound was for Jibrael was saying: “O Muhammad, you are the Messenger of God, and I am Jibrael”
6. It was a difficult night
The Prophet (PBUH) had a look at Jibrael and started moving forward, but to his surprise, the angel was present at the horizon in every direction where He put his sight. At the time of Jibrael got away, Prophet (PBUH) got frightened and was so scared. Upon his return the house, He (PBUH) asked Khadija (RA) to cover Him in order to get relaxed.
The holy Quran was revealed completely in the estimated time as 22 years, 5 months, and 14 days.
